What time does the Strand open?
The Strand opens @ 10:00am daily during the event. Purchase your parking pass online before Oct. 7th to receive it by mail prior to the event.
Yes we offer parking for Persons with Disabilities?
We value inclusion and access for all participants and are pleased to provide parking across from Starbucks on 22nd & Harborside Drive to accommodate persons with disabilities. This is one of our official LSR parking locations.
Where are the Slingshot Parking Locations?
Designated Slingshot parking locations are as follows… 22nd & Harborside Drive across from Starbucks, 3rd floor of the parking garage located at Beach Central next to the Galvez Hotel, 20th St. just off the Strand. The Pleasure Pier Parking Lot also has free parking for Slingshots and bikes only.
Parking passes can be purchased as you enter the Strand or at any of our LSR official parking locations during the event.
Parking passes are required to park on or enter the Strand.
Slingshots may Cruz the Strand but are not permitted to park on the Strand during the event. A parking pass will be required.
What vehicles aren’t permitted on the Strand?
There will be no ATV’s, UTV’s or Golf Carts permitted on the Strand during the event.

What’s the Trolley cost?
The Trolley on 25th St. will take you back and forth on the Island for $1.00 per passenger.
Do you any information about the Galveston Ferry?
The Galveston Ferry is a free ferry service operated by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT). This ferry transports passengers between Galveston Island and Bolivar Peninsula, with stops at Port Bolivar and Fort Travis. It would take approximately 20 minutes to cross the channel if there are no delays. The ferry operates 24/7. From 6 AM to 12 midnight there are at least two ferries departing every 30 minutes. Sometimes up to five ferries depending upon traffic. The Galveston-Port Bolivar ferry provides free transportation between Galveston Island and the Bolivar Peninsula.
